Chair of the Trustee Directors, Margaret Bounader, officially launched the Assembly of the Heart, inviting participation in a collaborative, consultation process over the next 12 months and leading to a gathering in Sydney from September 1-3, 2027.
In her introduction, Margaret noted that “The Assembly is not about setting strategic priorities or directions for the MMC ministries. Each of the ministries has responsibility for developing and implementing its own strategic plan. It is not a conference, but rather it offers the opportunity to ‘listen with the heart’ and dream together about the next stage in the synodal journey of MMC over the next five years. It will be a reflective, heartfelt and deep spiritual dialogue that begins today and will continue over the next 12 months.”
The process of consultation began when Conference participants were invited by a member of the Planning Committee, MCSAL Board Chair, Charles Reis, to identify challenges which could be addressed and to dream about the insights from our founders which could continue to shape our emerging charisms in our time and place. These reflections will be passed on to the Assembly’s Project Manager and to the Planning Committee. Further information will be shared as planning continues so keep your eye on the Assembly logo in subsequent newsletters.
