On the 18 March, Daniela Paradiso MMC’s Ministry Property Consultant, had the privilege of attending the blessing and official opening of the Sports and Wellness Precinct at Sacred Heart College Geelong. It was a beautiful and reverent ceremony that thoughtfully acknowledged both the present and the rich history of the College.
In her address, Principal Anna Negro spoke of the precinct as a place not only for athletes, but also one that supports balance and wellbeing. She highlighted the importance of the “wellness” element of the new building, which incorporates mental health services, spaces for reflection, and areas designed to support students’ overall wellbeing.
A particular highlight was the blessing of the building, led by Sr Joan Wilson and Sr Eileen Ann Daffy. As Sisters of Mercy who have made a significant and lasting contribution to Sacred Heart College, their presence added a deeply meaningful dimension to the occasion. The ceremony was a fitting celebration of the College’s ongoing commitment to wellbeing, community, and the Mercy tradition.
