Mercy Education Dinner and Leadership Conference

In May, Mercy Education Board Directors welcomed participants from across Mercy Ministries to a Conference and dinner, exploring the theme of Synodality as expressed in and through Mercy Education. Participants enjoyed presentations from Bishop Shane Mackinlay, Bishop of Sandhurst, and MMC Trustee Director, Professor Gabrielle McMullen, on Mercy Education’s connections to and with synodality.

During the conference, Chair of the Mercy Education Limited Board, Georgina Smith, offered a heartfelt farewell to Mary Retel who is retiring from the Board after more than 9 years of service. While MMC Trustee Director, Tony Goad, offered a Vote of Thanks to all in the Education Ministry for their works in being faithful to Catherine McAuley’s legacy.

Attendees at the event included Mercy Ministry Companions Trustee Directors and staff; Sisters of Mercy; Executive Directors of Melbourne, Ballarat and Sandhurst Catholic Education Offices; friends and colleagues of Mercy Education from Catholic Church Insurance and the Catholic Development Fund Melbourne; MEL colleagues from schools; Mercy Health; and MacKillop Family Services.

Sincere thanks to the Mercy Education Executive Team and Secretariat, particularly Effie Coulson and Robyn Woodhouse, for organising a wonderful event.
