Schools remember Anzac Day
MMC was delighted to hear about the many and varied ways in which our Mercy Education Schools took part in Anzac Day commemorative events on 25 April, to honour the men and women who served and continue to serve our country.
A number of Scared Heart College Geelong students made the journey to Melbourne to attend the Legacy ceremony and lay a wreath at the Shrine of Remembrance, while students from Sacred Heart College in Kyneton welcomed two representatives from the Kyneton RSL to share Anzac reflections. Students also represented the college at various Anzac events across the region.
At Mount Lilydale Mercy College, the College Choir and College Captains participated in the Anzac Day dawn service at the Lilydale Cenotaph, laying a wreath and singing the Australian and New Zealand national anthems.
St Joseph’s College Mildura continued its association with the Mildura RSL by participating in the War Graves Service at the Nichols Point Cemetery, attended by students, staff and families. While students from Catherine McAuley College in Bendigo attended the Bendigo RSL Anzac Day Morning Service to lay a wreath on behalf of the College.
We thank all those involved in Anzac day events for their thoughtful and respectful participation in such a special day.
